Stepping Towards a Fuller Future

We will donate $10 in YOUR name to help end the learning disability associated with childhood hunger. Nutrition is a vital part of the development of children, and with over 16.2 million children in the United States are at risk of hunger, we’re ready for a change. Currently feeding over 93,000 children in 1100 schools in 45 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, Blessings in a Backpack depends on local communities and individuals to leverage the resources available to ensure their community’s children leave school on Friday with food for the weekend.

Huntingtowne Farms Elementary was adopted by Tracy Brown as the first Blessings in a Backpack school in the Charlotte area serving 51 of the school’s most needy children, which primarily consist of homeless individuals. With the help of Temple Israel, which partners with the school to help with marketing, fundraising, and support, Charlotte’s local chapter is providing students with the nutrition they need to be healthy enough to focus on school and be the best they can.

We have a goal to make nourished kids ready to learn through the hope of feeding five children over a full school year (38 weeks). Extra funds that we can help raise will go to a wish list of a local chapter to help provide supplies that they are in need of including pencils, soap, and toilet paper.

Our agency will donate $10 to Blessings in a Backpack on your behalf for every recommendation you send our way, and we’ll add you to our monthly drawing for a $50 Gift Card.

They just need to receive a quote- no obligation to purchase.
